About this deal

Disaronno Velvet is delicious enough to drink on its own, over ice, but it also mixes well in cocktails.

It was Domenico Reina who created the Disaronno 'Originale' recipe, based on the innkeeper's elixir, towards the end of the 18th century. This was the first place that Disaronno Originale was produced and marketed, though the bottle couldn’t be further from the iconic square bottle we recognise today. This gift was the first bottle of Disaronno, its name derived from the phrase 'di Saronno' - meaning of, or from, Saronno. Disaronno is produced with only carefully selected ingredients such as the pure essence of 17 selected herbs and fruits soaked in apricot kernel oil.

Today, the headquarters are still based in the plant in Saronno and the property is still completely owned by the Reina Family. Over the years the bottle has evolved into its current form with its unique square shape and bevelled, hand-crafted glass design now recognised as a modern classic. While retaining the beloved nutty essence characteristic of Disaronno, Velvet offers an exceptionally smooth and creamy experience, creating a delightful new way to savour this timeless favourite.Disaronno Velvet is the first cream liqueur from the brand, and also the first line extension in over 500 years! Disaronno is characterised by an unmistakable amber colour due to caramelised sugar: no additives are used - this has not changed since 1525.

We take care to make sure product details are correct but the information shown, including vegan and vegetarian suitability, ingredients, and alcohol by volume (ABV) may change. Legend has it that Bernardino and his muse (a beautiful innkeeper) fell deeply in love - culminating in the young widow creating a sweet tasting liqueur in honour of her lover.Contrary to popular belief, this is not made from almonds, but instead gets its nutty flavour from apricot pits (but not the fruit juice - don't worry! There's still all the hallmark, nutty flavours we know and love from the original Disaronno (which comes from apricot pits, don't you know), but with a smooth, creamy oomph! He chose a beautiful local innkeeper as his muse for the Madonna, and to thank the artist she prepared a special gift which was none other than a flask full of a certain amber liqueur. The warm, sophisticated taste of Disaronno has a lineage dating back to one of the most romantic and creative periods in Italian history - the Renaissance. While we have taken care in preparing this summary and believe it to be accurate, it is not a substitute for reading the product packaging and label prior to use.
